While I make every effort to keep this website up to date, it is always a good idea to contact me by email prior to placing an order to confirm availability. Payment can be made by several means. PayPal is preferred, and assures that you will receive your animal as quickly as possible. Payment can also be completed by Postal Money Order or Cashier's Check (Bank Draft) payable to DownEast Herps, in which case the animal will be shipped on the first suitable business day after the MO or draft is received. Additionally DownEast Herps can accept personal checks, but shipment will not take place until the check clears which will usually be two weeks from the day it is deposited in my account. Please remember to add the cost of shipping your animal to the final amount. The cost of overnight shipping is $48. On a side note, please also realize and take advantage of the fact that multiple animals can generally be shipped for the same $48 cost. DownEast Herps ships FedEx Priority Overnight on Mondays through Thursdays with an anticipated package arrival by 10:30AM on the morning following shipment. FedEx cannot ship to a post office box, and SOMEONE MUST BE PRESENT TO SIGN FOR THE PACKAGE OR THE GUARANTEE IS VOID! We cannot advise shipment when temperatures here or at the destination are predicted to be below 30 degrees or above 85 degrees. During cold weather, heat packs will be supplied at no additional cost.

Please make sure that I have all your shipping information, and that your PayPal account reflects your actual shipping address. We are not responsible for losses if an incorrect mailing address is submitted with a PayPal invoice.

Animals have a live arrival guarantee when temperatures at this end and at your end are between 30 and 85 degrees. Once again, the buyer must be present to sign for the package when it arrives or the guarantee is void. In extreme weather, DownEast Herps reserves the right to postpone shipment until the weather conditions are suitable, and in Maine, this can and does happen in the winter. If an animal is DOA or in questionable condition on arrival, you must notify me (email or telephone or FAX) as soon as possible and no later then 8 hours after delivery. The cost of the animal minus shipping will be refunded after reasonable proof of the animal's death has been provided.

Before sending any money, please e-mail me to make sure the desired animal is still available and so that we can discuss shipping dates and arrangements. Be sure to include the name or number of the animal in your e-mail. When making PayPal payments, please be sure to include the cost of shipping ($48)

Most available snakes will be sexed and that determination is guaranteed. With geckos, you will note that most of the available juvenile animals are described and sold as unsexed. Occasionally I will make an educated guess with a youngster, but under no circumstance is the sex of a juvenile gecko guaranteed. Adult geckos do carry a guarantee as to sex, and that sex determination will be present in the description on the AVAILABLE page. Because the colors of a gecko can vary due to environmental or emotional stimulus, color is not guaranteed. Geckos colors often change as they mature and there is no way to be 100% certain of how their color will turn out. In most cases, geckos fired up coloration only gets better with age. We strive to represent our animals as accurately as possible, hence the numerous photographs.
