DownEast Herps is an enterprise of Dr. Alan Slack. Reptile husbandry has been a lifelong hobby and avocation for me that began many years ago with a rescued Garter Snake in urban Chicago of all places. Reptiles have also been an interesting adjunct to my career as a veterinarian. Please check out our gallery for images of our various breeders and other members of the collection.
NEWS FOR mid-July. You really need to check out my available page; just updated. There are some spectacular crested geckos and two, count 'em, 2 guaranteed male Gargoyle Geckos, Rhacodactylus auriculatus. Those of you who've been doing this for a bit have some conception as to how rare male auriculatus are.
SPECIAL UNTIL AUGUST 10, 2007. Take 10% off the listed price on any animal on the available page. The discount does not include shipping, which I am trying hard to retain at the $48 level
Along the way I have maintained and bred boids, colubrids, and numerous genera of geckos. As a breeder, my goal is to offer healthy, accurately described, and fairly priced captive-bred reptiles in interesting and unusual color morphs.
For the last few years, my primary focus has been on Rhacodactylus geckos, those fascinating rediscovered New Caledonian reptiles, but there's always something new and exciting in the works at DownEast Herps.
