Here are images of some of the animals we have as pets, some of our breeders, and many animals for whom projects are planned in the coming year.

Rhacodactylus

Left is Curly Toes, a 98% pinstripe Crested Gecko produced by Robbie Hamper in 2005. My friend Randy May was good enough to make this image of him for me at the NARBC expo in Tinley Park last year. We have great plans for him (the gecko that is) in the coming breeding season. Center image is our female Rhacodactylus sarasinorum. She's a dependable breeder, and Saras are by far the most underrrated Rhac species. Right is GreenGirl, a very distinctive olive Crestie and part of our "green" project.

Colubrids

On the left is a newly acquired Central American Black Milk Snake, Lampropeltis triangulum gaigae, one of the varieties of "Poor Man's Eastern Indigo". As hatchlings these snakes are tricolor Coral Snake mimics. This snake is a yearling and the ontogenetic change to pure black is underway! Center and right are images of a hatchling pair of Mexican Night Snakes, Elaphe flavirufa flavirufa, a somewhat uncommonly seen colubrid.

Miscellaneous Geckos

On the left is a head shot of a Madagasgar Smooth Tailed Gecko, Paroedura picta. Center is the Madagascar Spiny Tailed Gecko, Paroedura bastardi. We are raising pairs of these in hopes of breeding both species in 2007. Far right is one of our Goniurosaurus luii pair. We have had eggs from this pair, but nothing viable as yet.

more Rhacodactylus......

On the left is a big female, one of our Crested breeders, Grarlee. Center is my absolute favorite male, Agricola. He is an excellent and very personable gecko and was produced by Mark and Aimee Berger. He has the exaggerated crests that are the mark of AussieDragons' geckos, and he displays those crests in the right hand image. This pairing, Agricola x Grarlee, produces consistently spectacular geckos.

Tegus

These Argentine Tegus, Tupinambis merianae, are pets. Both animals were produced by Rick Sisco. The smaller male, a 2006 juvenile named Charlie is my wife's and the larger female, Maze, belongs to my son Andrew.

Still more Rhacs

Left is Big Mama, my oldest and most dependable Crested Gecko breeder. Maybe the largest, too. This dark harlequin girl weighs in at 58 grams! Center and right are pictures of my favorite male Gargoyle Gecko (Rhacodactylus auriculatus). Males are kind of hard to come by. The vast majority of captive bred hatchlings are female for reasons that are not completely understood. Gargoyles also grow more slowly and are not as easy to breed as Crested Geckos.

R. ciliatus and R. chahoua

Here left is GreenGuy, a striking Crested Gecko produced by Jeremy Gentile of TokaysUnlimited. Image credit is to Jeremy, too. Got some eggs incubating from GreenGuy and my wonderful gecko GreenGirl; imaged far right in group one. Also pictured is "Rodan", a male Pine Island Rhacodacylus chahoua produced be Nathan Benner. He should be breeding in 2007!
